You probably have a long list of things you need to get done before your children go back to school. Sadly, one important thing is often overlooked. While visiting our dentist may not be what your children are hoping to do during their summer, it is something that shouldn’t be overlooked.

Here at Meadowdale Dental Clinic, we are proud to offer family dentistry, so your whole family is tenderly cared for together. With school sessions beginning soon, we understand your busy schedule. However, what better way to start off the new school year with positive oral health?

You see, tooth decay is fairly common in younger children, especially since there is more sugar being introduced into their diet. Sadly, these sugary snacks make it easier for bad bacteria to grow in your mouth, which can lead to more cavities. While this may not seem like a problem, did you know that 51 million school hours are missed each year because kids need to visit the dentist?

Naturally, your children may not enjoy visiting the dentist. This is especially understandable since children tend to find new things scary. However, there are a few things that you can do to help your children’s dental visit more enjoyable. For instance, try to schedule your child’s appointment when they will not be tired. Also, remember to feed your child before visiting our team since a fed child should be less grumpy.

Finally, please remember that having dental check-ups is extremely important. When you visit our office, we’ll gladly assess the health of your little one’s smile and our team will clean your little one’s gums and teeth.

If you would like to learn more, or schedule an appointment for us, please don’t hesitate to contact Meadowdale Dental Clinic at (425) 361-0842. We’ll gladly answer any of the questions you may have. Dr. Lois Lee and our team look forward to hearing from you soon!
